Current Status

The College of International Affairs was founded as College of International Studies on August 1, 1992. It includes the Graduate Institute of European Affairs, Graduate Institute of American Studies, Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies, Graduate Institute of Japanese Studies, Graduate Institute of Latin American Studies, Graduate Institute of Russian Studies, and Graduate Institute of China Studies. In 1995, the Master’s Program in South East Asian Studies was established; in 2015, the Department of Diplomacy and International Affairs was founded.
This college was rebranded as the College of International Affairs in 2018, and in 2021, the Department of International Tourism Management and the Department of Global Political Economy returned to the Tamsui Campus under the supervision of our college. The College of International Affairs has five graduate institutes, one master’s program, three undergraduate departments, and six research centers (Center for Japanese Studies, Center for European Union Studies, Center for South-East Asia Studies, Center for Cross-Strait Research, Center for New Southbound Policy, One-Belt-One-Road Research Center, and Center for Latin America and the Caribbean).
In August 2022, the CIA was reorganized. The Graduate Institute of European Studies and Graduate Institute of China Studies are affiliated with the Department of Diplomacy and International Relations, while the Graduate Institute of Latin American Studies and Graduate Institute of Japanese Political and Economic Studies are affiliated with the Department of Global Political Economy. The Center for European Union Studies changed its affiliation to the Office of Research and Development, Tamkang University. After reorganization, the CIA has one graduate institute, three departments, and five research centers.

Department of International Tourism Management: Full English-Taught Undergraduate Program (B.A.)

Department of Global Politics and Economics: Full English-Taught Undergraduate Program (B.A.), Masters in Latin American Studies (M.A.), Executive Master’s Program in Latin American Studies, Masters in Japanese Political and Economic Studies.

The aim of the college is to nurture research and practical talents in global politics, economics, society, culture, and tourism.
